Easter Vigil Mass

Our Pastoral Social group.  This group gathers on Tuesdays after Mass to pass out diarios (bags of food), and respond to the needs of the poor.  They also visit the homes of those in need.


Bridget was thrilled to ride horses for her birthday, she still talks about how awesome it was.  Thanks to our landlord for bringing his horses to us!

It is such a gift to share our experience here with others from back home.  Susan so fully and beautifully gave and received love from all those she met during her visit here.

Obed is learning how to rely on the strength of Jesus to help him through the process of  being freed from his addictions.  Pastor Juan says that Obed is a hard worker and is doing his part to really change!

It was a great joy to have the Bishop visit Coopevega.  There were about 14 `youth Confirmed this day.

The Mission Lives On

It has been too long since I have sent an update on our mission.  Our mission still lives on.  We are still very much engaged in Costa Rica. We continue to hear from Peru occasionally as well.   Having lived abroad in poor areas, our responsibility as stewards stretches far.  If my neighbor here knocked on my door, asking for help, I would take it seriously and see how I can help.  Well, now I have literal neighbors from Peru and Costa Rica who still "knock on my door" asking for help.  I take this very seriously, knowing that God is both in the face of those in need and he asks us to help those in need.  I want to thank those of you who have joined us to make it possible to respond and help meet some of those needs that come to our door. That being said, I have been able to continue to travel to Costa Rica, where I continue to connect with people in a tangible way. A Glimpse into Our Life

Aviana visiting her friend Juni where her family cares for a tilapia farm. All the girls love Gemma! She is full of fun ideas! Victoria is getting a new toilet.  Her old one is too far away, down a slippery  hill preventing her from getting there when it rains, at night, or when she is sick. Andrea is learning how to pray.  She is hoping that her son will help her practice the Our Father prayer. These three students are very motivated to learn English.  Alexander is hoping to get a job in tourism once he can speak English. 18 year old Cristian (on right), has suffered health issues his entire life. Thanks to Sister Ana, he will be able to receive catechism classes at his home and soon receive the Sacrament of Baptism! An interactive rosary is the best way for this group of kids to learn how to pray it. It is such a blessing to have other missionary families near by to share this crazy life with.
